Teaching

The Bronx School for Law, Government & Justice

Ryan began his career as a New York City public school teacher. He taught US History and AP Government & Politics at the Bronx School for Law, Government, and Justice — a specialized school where his classroom served as a lab for developing peer teachers, located next to the Bronx Criminal Court complex.

That experience — helping young people understand how government works and why it matters — is a direct thread to why he's running for local office today.

Healthcare Design

Cityblock Health

Ryan was a Service Designer at Cityblock Health, where he helped build a value-based care model designed specifically for marginalized, low-income, and Medicaid-beneficiary populations — people who are routinely underserved by traditional healthcare systems.

That work, like his time in the Bronx classroom, was rooted in the same conviction: that well-designed systems can deliver meaningfully better outcomes for people who have historically been left behind.

Current Role

Thyme Care

Ryan is currently a Service Designer at Thyme Care, a value-based care company focused on improving outcomes for oncology patients. He works at the intersection of healthcare design and technology — translating complex systems into better experiences for patients and providers navigating cancer care.

The same skills that make him effective in that role — reading complex data, synthesizing it into clear decisions, and communicating reasoning to people who deserve to understand it — are exactly what Chester's Town Board needs.
